What Hypnosis can and cannot do

Hypnosis is not magic and in itself can achieve absolutely nothing other than a sense of calmness and relaxation.

The therapy part of it comes under Hypnosis and that is what produces change. It can achieve anythingcigs from a simple confidence boost for a driving test or other exam to quitting habits like smoking or nail biting. It can increase motivation, concentration, business skills and stress-handling capabilities; it can improve relationships, sporting performance and public speaking; it can enhance memory, sexual ability and creativity. In fact, it can be used to improve or enhance almost all areas of human activity.

Hypnotherapy is a totally safe, totally natural, drugs-free method of employing the truly astonishing power of the human mind to produce beneficial change.

All Hypnosis is perfectly safe, it cannot do any harm and you cannot get stuck in any way. Hypnosis is not any form of sleep or unconsciousness, though it can certainly give the appearance of being so from the outside. From the inside, the hypnotised individual is most definitely not asleep, nor even semi-conscious, and is most definitely fully aware of everything that is going on around him. Even when a surgical procedure is carried out using hypnosis instead of a clinical anesthetic, the individual is fully aware of what is going on but the state of Hypnosis is being used here to produce a state of such extreme relaxation that there is no sensation of pain or concern. So effective can this be that, before the advent of clinical anesthesia , Hypnosis was used extensively for such work, reaching a peak during the mid to late 1800s.
